Bettina Quistgaard

Bettina provides comprehensive support to clients across Atlantic Canada in a diverse range of legal matters. Since relocating from Toronto to Halifax and joining Pink Larkin in 1996, she has cultivated a thriving practice focused on labour, employment, pension, and employee benefits law, and her work and expertise also extends to human rights and various facets of administrative law.

Bettina’s clients trust her to advocate on their behalf across a wide spectrum of issues. She has appeared before all levels of court in Nova Scotia and has extensive experience with various administrative tribunals in Nova Scotia, Newfoundland and Labrador, and New Brunswick. Additionally, Bettina is well-versed in acting in proceedings before the Canada Industrial Relations Board. Bettina also offers invaluable guidance to pension and benefit plan sponsors, trustees, administrators, unions, and members regarding employer-sponsored and multi-employer plans. She represents unions and pension plan administrators in insolvency proceedings, encompassing matters under the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act and the Companies Creditors Arrangement Act.

Bettina is an active member of the Nova Scotia Bar, having previously served as the Chair of the Labour and Employment Law Section of the Canadian Bar Association of Nova Scotia. Dedicated to sharing the knowledge she has accumulated over her career, she is a frequent speaker on topics related to labour, employment, pension and benefits law.
