Johanna is a solutions-oriented advocate who strives to bring a thoughtful, client-focused approach to every file. Johanna is developing practices in the areas of labour and employment, civil litigation, constitutional law, administrative law, and professional regulation. She has also represented pro bono clients at the Residential Tenancies Tribunal.
Johanna graduated from McGill University with a joint Juris Doctor and Bachelor of Civil Law. During law school, she served as Executive English Editor of the McGill Journal of Law and Health and completed an internship with legal counsel at the Jewish General Hospital. There, she facilitated weekly information sessions with psychiatric patients on their legal rights—an experience that deepened her interest in the intersection of law and health, which she continues to explore in her work in labour law. Her advocacy work is also informed by her commitment to advancing Indigenous rights. Johanna participated in the Kawaskimhon National Aboriginal Moot, where she further developed her oral advocacy skills and deepened her understanding of Indigenous legal traditions and governance.
Johanna also worked as a research assistant to Professors Daniel Weinstock, Priya Gupta, and Alissa Koski. Her research work on racial discrimination in housing was recognized in Professor Gupta’s recent Canadian Bar Review paper, and she is a credited co-author on an upcoming publication with Professor Koski on marriage age laws in Canada, set for release in the Canadian Journal of Bioethics in 2025.
Outside of the office, Johanna enjoys hot pilates and yoga, hiking, showing out of town friends around the South Shore and reading on Citadel Hill.
