Sophie is a thoughtful lawyer who is committed to providing clients with the highest quality legal advice and advocacy. Sophie is developing practices in the areas of labour and employment, civil litigation, and criminal defence; she assists provincially and federally regulated public and private sector unions, and advises clients in complex litigation disputes as well as clients facing criminal charges.
Sophie has experience assisting on matters before all levels of court in Nova Scotia, as well as before arbitrators and regulatory bodies, including the Nova Scotia College of Nursing, the Federal Public Sector Labour Relations and Employment Board, and labour boards across Atlantic Canada.
Sophie graduated from Schulich School of Law with a Criminal Justice Specialization. While in law school, Sophie and her teammate came 2nd place in the Gale Cup, a Canada-wide criminal and constitutional law competitive moot, after arguing in front of a panel at the Supreme Court of Canada in Ottawa. Sophie received numerous scholarships and awards in recognition of her academic achievements and community involvement during her studies, including the Frank M. Covert Scholarship for academic excellence and subject awards for the highest mark in Criminal Law, Legal Research and Writing, Contracts, and Tax Law.
On her off-hours, Sophie can be found at the movie theatre or birdwatching in the Public Gardens.
