Shehu’s practice spans litigation, alternative disputes resolution and employment. Shehu enjoys working with clients in commercial and business litigation matters to craft and implement solutions to disputes.

Shehu has appeared before the Supreme Court of Nova Scotia and Small Claims Court of Nova Scotia. Shehu previously qualified and extensively practiced litigation and alternative disputes resolution in Nigeria. Shehu also worked at law firms in Singapore, London and at the Southern Africa Litigation Center, a human rights NGO in Johannesburg.

Shehu is a member of the Nova Scotia Barrister’s Society, the Canadian Bar Association, the Advocates’ Society and the Nigerian Bar Association.

Shehu’s volunteer and community involvement includes serving on the Board of the Law Foundation of Nova Scotia, the Halifax Free Legal Clinic, and the Community Volunteer Income Tax Program. Outside of work, Shehu enjoys: spending time with his wife Zeniath and their young children; cycling; reading history and historical fiction; playing scrabble; and music.
