Laurren Bowden

Interested in the intersection of law, human rights and labour relations, Laurren works primarily with the labour and employment group assisting clients on a variety of matters.

Laurren graduated as a proud member of the Indigenous Blacks & Mi’kmaq program at Schulich School of Law. Interested in human rights and discrimination, Laurren studied African Nova Scotians and the law and has also received a certificate in Aboriginal Law. Laurren strives to use her background to assist clients from underrepresented communities. This interest extends to those experience sexual and gender-based harassment in the workplace.

Laurren has previously worked as a research assistant on critical race theory and equity and diversity. She has also worked with the African Nova Scotian Decade of People of African Descent Coalition helping them to serve Nova Scotia’s black community.

Approaching each client interaction with a calm and attentive mindset, she invests time in understanding the unique backgrounds and challenges clients may be experiencing. With experience representing unions, employees, and employers in workplace disputes, Laurren understands how to considers all facets of a case and advocating effectively for her client’s position.

In her free time, Laurren enjoys working with oil pastels and ceramics to explore her creativity. She enjoys taking walks and hikes with her German Shepherd, Frankie.
