Ronald Pizzo

Ron is a labour and employment lawyer, a facilitator, and a mediator. He has over 35 years’ experience resolving complex workplace disputes.  He is a subject matter expert on various grants, like Federal Bill C-65 Workplace Harassment and Violence grant, working with industrial organizational psychologists to design and train dispute resolution programs.  He writes on conflict resolution, trauma informed dispute resolution and leadership development. 

Ron is often retained to work with organizations, leaders, and teams in conflict after all other measures of dispute resolution have not worked.  He has worked in private industry, professional organizations, not-for-profit organizations and governmental organizations.  Ron believes that although workplace conflict is unavoidable, it does not have to devolve into dysfunctional conflict. With the right approach, high conflict is avoidable. 

Ron has consistently been peer-ranked in the Best Lawyers in Canada® – Labour and Employment Law since 2015. He also received a peer ranking in The Best Lawyers in Nova Scotia® in 2016. Demonstrating his commitment to professional development, Ron holds advanced certification in Transformative Mediation from the Institute of Conflict Transformation, is a Certified Coach through the Coaches’ Training Institute, carries the CPCC designation, and is certified in the Pro-Social Matrix Communication Process. Ron also holds certifications in ADR and Advanced ADR from Stitt Feld Handy.
